As a mid-life woman, I have weathered some heavy experiences and large responsibilities. Caring for children, home, business, and marriage has become a large part of my life. The weight of being responsible can feel unbearable sometimes. The practice of thankfulness and intentional gladness to be alive is something that inspires me in women I admire. Those women who have much less, who's load is heavier than mine, laughing at their circumstances, finding joy in the small things. To know that sorrows last for the night, but joy comes in the morning. This drawing is inspired by that resilience, that hope. Gladness that comes from a place larger than themselves.
