Gallery Flat File Collections
AVA has recently acquired two flat file cabinets. We are looking to activate the cabinets and create a more long term/permanent presence for AVA member artists to have their work in the gallery outside of the rotation of exhibits in the gallery. We would like to feature 2-3 artists per drawer.
Each drawer measures 43” wide x 32” deep
One cabinet has six drawers that each measure 2.5” deep
The other cabinet has ten drawers that measure 1.25” deep
Requirements:
Must be an active AVA Member in good standing to submit. Free to submit.
In particular, we are looking for a cohesive body of work related to an ongoing or developing practice, not random one off artworks. Selected artist’s works will be available in the flat files for a six month period.
Works can be no larger than 40” x 30” in area. There is no minimum scale requirement. For this, we prefer works that are related to each other in a cohesive body or collection as opposed to a series of individual works that have little connection.
Artists are welcome to submit submissions of loose works on paper (including but not limited to: photography, print media, drawings, paintings, mixed media, etc) un-stretched canvas, small cradled paintings, shallow relief or miniature 3D art, or works that have some depth (no more than 2.5” deep).
A range of drawings, paintings, photographs, collages, mixed-media, limited edition prints, small sculptures, & fiber works will be accepted.
Works should not be framed.
Accepted works will be housed in our flat file portfolios and listed on our website for a six month period. Available to browse through each show and during normal gallery hours. Artists and works will be consigned semi-annually and may be rotated or returned to artists if not sold at the end of the consignment period.
AVA will retain a 30% commission of any works sold, after credit card fees
Artists are responsible for delivering accepted works to and from AVA once their consignment period has ended. AVA will handle getting sold works to patrons and customers.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email our Curator, Tim at tim@avarts.org.
Please note, you will need to resubmit the form for each individual work.
